My reason for asking for the Cricut Maker and laptop are two-fold. One, this technology will help me engage my students with engaging literacy centers. And two, this technology will save me lots of time. You might ask why literacy centers are so important. In Kindergarten, teachers need to meet with students in small groups to intervene on students who need extra help. In order for me to do this, I need to make sure that my students are independently engaged in centers. By helping me purchase a Cricut Maker and a laptop, you will be giving me the technology that I need to create meaningful and engaging center activities in a much faster way! If you have ever known a teacher or even been a teacher, you know that we are always pressed for time. Creating centers faster will free up time for me to then give to my students in small reading groups. With more time given to students in reading groups and more engaging centers, my students will become more independent and confident readers. This will in turn improve test scores.
