We need 6 new Chromebooks in our second-grade classroom. My students love math and science but they would become even more excited when they have an opportunity to use technology. My classroom only has only 2 desktop computers and it is extremely hard to get them excited about using technology when we don’t have any available. There have been many activities that I want to do with my students, but unfortunately, I was unable to do them because we didn’t have enough computers to go around. However, I am extremely proud that they are eager to learn even if they have to take turns doing it. I am grateful for having such a hard-working group of students. My students are strong and they have made so much progress this year even with little to no technology use. The use of technology in the classroom will inspire my students to become more independent learners and equip them with the necessary tools to achieve their academic goals. Although most of my students are considered at-risk, they have been working diligently and are surpassing their projected goals. The requested Acer and Asus Chromebook Laptop Computers will take their learning outside of the typical text book and give them the opportunity to explore areas of math and science that will change their lives forever. These Chromebooks are the tools I need to transform the dynamic of learning in my classroom. They will help my students earn new skills as well as complete group projects, lab assignments, and assessments.
