Our elementary school is a low income school in Tomah, WI with a poverty rate of almost 70%. We have a very high population of special needs students with speech disabilities, learning disabilities and emotional/behavior disabilities at nearly 40%. This includes the only self contained EBD program in our district. At our school, we focus on providing positive behavior interventions and support to ensure that all students are successful. My current classroom has thirteen students at varying levels of socio-economic, behavioral, and academic levels, but all of my students have a natural desire to learn.
