This year my students get to delve into reading books of their choice each quarter. By adding these books to my classroom library, it will allow students a wider option of books to select for their independent reading. My students are encouraged to read multiple books each quarter which will expand their vocabularies, increase their comprehension, have them go on adventures, and learn how other characters lived and experienced events. Independent reading allows students to escape the present day and hang out in the lives of the characters. Books are a way to increase engagement which can benefit students for the rest of their lives.

About my class
