Project based learning for STEM exploration will allow students to prepare themselves for being college and career ready in the 21st Century. The STEM career cards will allow students to see what opportunities they could have when they perform the experiments. For example, students will be able to use the "flash flood" materials to design a dam that could withstand a flood. Using the career cards, they will then be able to talk about the different jobs people have to make it possible. Students will work collaboratively with one another to see their ideas come to life. Using hands on projects allows students to make real world applications. During science instruction students will be able to work in groups using the materials to participate in problem solving. Currently, there are few materials for students to use to participate in STEM learning. Having these materials such as sink and float activities, building a bridge and exploring magnetism will allow students to participate in hands on science learning. These materials will give students a chance to participate in hands on learning that they have yet to experience.
