I teach in a public school that embraces the Reggio Emilia philosophy. My classroom is a multi-age kindergarten and first grade class full of curious learners who are ready to explore the world around them. The best part is, they let me come on their journey, too! The growth I see in them every day amazes me. They are so responsive to instruction and intervention, still in that phase of life where they are soaking up information like sponges. Whether we are learning more about what it means to be part of a community, how authors construct a story, what role an illustrator plays in that story, or what plants are in the rainforest in another part of the world, my class is ready to embrace new ideas and try new things.
