Students sit in chairs a lot during the day. I want to give them the opportunity to choose other options, such as a rug and bean bag chairs. My hope is to teach my Kindergarten and 1st grade students on the Place for Everyone rug and also provide comfy cushions for them to sit on during instruction. Providing options for flexible seating allows students to experience optimal learning during instruction. They will be comfortable while also having a space to wiggle. The students to come to my classroom are the ones striving the most to learn to read. They need to come into a welcoming and homelike environment so they are most confident in making mistakes and thriving throughout the year.
