As we begin to discuss the possibility of in-person learning, special steps need to be taken to ensure the safety of my students. My students use markers daily to complete a variety of assignments because they are easy to grip for individuals with fine motor challenges and also come in a variety of colors that encourages visual engagement. Most of my classroom supplies are shared due to limited funds and preparation for in-person learning means that individual sets will be needed in order to safely support my students. Many of my students experience health issues and fall under the high-risk category. As a result, we need additional supplies that can be disinfected daily and kept separately to prevent cross-contamination. Markers and easy to open pencil boxes will be crucial to making sure that all my students have access to school supplies while following protocols to maintain a healthy classroom environment. Words cannot accurately describe how much these daily items will be so crucial in creating the opportunity to enable my students to return to a safe learning environment.
