My Title One school has an 84% poverty level. This means that many of my classroom students have never left our hometown of Yuma, Arizona to explore the world around them. Many do not have access to technology at home, and some of my students do not speak our English Language. I have students that have learning disabilities, others that don't necessarily learn very well with traditional teaching methods, and I see students that can't sit or stay focused for very long periods of time in the classroom. This is why I love that my school has implemented personalized learning, which involves a variety of different methods that help me reach each of my students. When considering my student's needs, I decided that headphones to use with our technology and different seating options would greatly benefit my students. By donating to my project, students will have access to headphones and flexible seating options in my classroom, which will assist each student in achieving his or her own personalized learning goals! Having technology in the classroom is an amazing opportunity to reach students at different levels, with different needs, and to excite those learners that haven't been able to learn with or use technology. Allowing my young learners to go sit in a comfortable seat with a buddy to work, or find a quiet place to sit with their headphones and technology when learning, creates an atmosphere of independence and anticipation! Thank you so much for considering helping fund our classroom project!
