Digital storytelling is the 21st century method of sharing information and having your voice heard. Gone are the days of PowerPoint. This project will help develop the 21st century skills my students need to be successful. Video and sound editing are skills they need to complete Common Core requirements for projects and presentation that prepare them to compete in a technology world. My students will use the sound equipment to capture and edit quality sound in producing their own digital stories. Student projects require video creation and sharing and we are currently doing this. However, the problem is the sound quality from our current equipment is terrible and the students are frustrated with their product and reluctant to share what they have produced. This new microphone equipment will provide a quality that the students will be proud to share and contribute their stories to our society.
