My goal is to build a classroom that is rich in collaboration and community. From a morning message that greets my students, to shared readings, poems, interactive writing, and math talks, a new easel will allow all of my students to engage equally with new academic content. This easel is mobile and will allow me to hang chart paper and pocket charts, as well as write messages. With a new easel, my students will be able to come up and share their ideas, writing, and discover new information. Over time, they will be able to pass the pen to one another and take charge of their own independent learning. This project will have a lasting impact on my students and how they learn! With this easel I will be able to develop lessons that are engaging and student centered. As the students grow in their learning and become readers, writers, and thinkers, this will become part of our shared space, helping them take charge in their own learning.
