Students come to the library looking for independent reading material for both class work and for reading pleasure. By offering more diverse titles for our library, it will help students see themselves in the books they read and to promote respect and empathy for the world around them. Having books available that students will read and enjoy will allow the students to read more, helping to enrich their vocabulary. This will be especially helpful as we have a large population of ELL students. My goal is to instill a life-long love of reading and to offer books from various perspectives and authors that they will long remember after they finish reading them.
