My students are learning about the structure and function of the different parts of the body. To better understand similarities and differences in plants and animals, students need to see these items at the cellular level. Having a class set of microscopes would allow my students to analyze slides of microscopic material, ask questions, make connections, and draw conclusions about the world around them. Also, getting students to think outside of the box and ask questions can help students not only in science, but in other areas of their lives. These skills that they learn in science class will help them for the rest of their lives.
