Education is constantly changing and there will always be new and exciting ideas to implement. Students in my classroom would positively benefit from a recent trend in education known as flexible seating. Flexible seating choices can help increase the level of student engagement. When students are able to choose seating that is specifically comfortable for them, learning becomes more focused. Imagine grabbing your favorite book from the classroom bookshelf and then searching for a cozy seat to sit, relax, and enjoy reading that book. Wobble stools can provide that cozy comfortable seat. Sitting in a wobble seat allows students to wiggle and release some of their energy safely-- without disturbing other students. Funding of this project would ensure that students in my classroom have the ability to select seating that is not only comfortable to them, but also safe and encourages focused reading time.
