The novel, Rules, and writing materials will help my students master the 6th grade parts of a story standard. My 6th grade students are taking part in the APTT program, and their parents will be helping me teach at home. Through high interest reading and basic retelling assignments, students will gain a deep comprehension of the novel, Rules. Students will be assigned a novel, that they will read at home and discuss with their parents. Students will also be working with this novel in class, in their small groups. I am hoping this helps students become more motivated readers, and gets parents more involved in specific student standards.
