The materials for labs will provide the students with hands on activities. One lab will allow allow students to use common laboratory techniques to diagnose fictitious patients with various diseases. This lab will summarize the class and force students to use all of their knowledge of the various systems to diagnose the patients and come up with a treatment plan as well as teaching about diseases. These labs will allow students to relate everyday health and science topics to what they are learning. Students who physically experience scientific concepts understand them more clearly. Students will get the opportunity to use lab materials and collect data that will lead to discovery based learning. Hands on discovery based learning will hopefully create a life long love for science.
