These books, activities, toys and games will provide our students with hands on and engaging social/emotional learning. Many of our students experienced PTSD, anxiety and depression as well as other adverse childhood experiences. During counseling sessions I work hard to provide the students with a safe place to play. Play is the way that children learn, develop and understand the world around them. In a therapy setting, play provides children with the tools to process emotions, express themselves and increase their capacity to regulate behaviors throughout the day. Through play, students also improve social skills and develop creative thinking and independence.
