I teach in a special education preschool classroom. My students range in age from 3-5 years old. They have language and speech delays which make it difficult to communicate with their parents, siblings and other people. They are at school for 2 hours and 40 minutes. five days a week. Most of them ride the bus to school but absolutely love that part of the day. We sing, dance, read, learn and play like other preschoolers. We have gym time or we go outside each day to improve gross motor skills. Students also like table time where they can play with manipulatives to increase their fine motor skills. My main goal for my students is to want to come to school each day and feel loved. I want them to learn but they have a long school career ahead of them and I want them to enjoy themselves. Therefore, we have a lot of play time in school to increase language and social skills. We have fun in preschool!
