These materials will be used to reinforce ideas discussed in class and to allow them to learn the big ideas behind force and motion in action. Allowing students to create investigations and explain the trends behind some of the most fundamental parts of science will encourage them to study physics or inspire them to consider it as a career. Students will explore the effect of force on a mass’s acceleration, balanced and unbalanced forces, force due to friction, velocity, acceleration and graphing, constant motion versus acceleration, and elastic forces and springs. Student groups move from station to station, applying the skills learned in the previous activity to each future project.
