First graders love to learn and are always on the move! To increase student engagement and overall happiness within the classroom, I am embracing flexible seating in the upcoming school year. Students will be able to choose the seat that best meets their needs on a daily basis. Some of these seats may include lowered tables, standing desks, scoop chairs, cushions, stools, bean bags, yoga mats, wobble seats, and standard desks/chairs. By allowing students the ability to choose their own seat, they will be given more of a voice in their education and feel more comfortable in the learning environment. First grade is a big year for learning and the morale created can carry on for a lifetime!
