Education has changed drastically over the years, but the one thing that has not changed is the standard desks and chairs. Flexible seating will provide students with the choice of where they work. It will allow them to choose a place in the classroom where they feel comfortable, confident, and motivated to get their work completed. This will be different for all students. Some will choose to stay at their desk, while others will want to be on the yoga ball, some will choose to sit on the futon, and others would prefer to stand while they work. If you put yourself in their shoes, you would want these options as well. We, as adults, do not always want to sit in a desk or at a table to do our work. Kids are the same way and it is time for them to have options. With your support, you will be giving my students choice. You will allow them to feel comfortable and happy in the classroom. You will empower them to feel confident and know that they don't have to sit in a hard chair if they cannot focus that way. I will be moving to a new classroom, so I will need all the help I can get to fulfill these flexible seating options. I am very confident that these items are exactly what my students will need to help them thrive in the classroom. Flexible seating is far more than just a new place to work. The students will experience a positive atmosphere to work in and they will WANT to do their work! It is going to impact these students far beyond the classroom and I look forward to seeing them go above and beyond.
