Flexible seating has many benefits and I'm requesting a variety of seating options including a rectangular carpet, bean bag chairs, ball chairs, and bed risers for flexible learning. My high-energy students will be able to work in a variety of seating styles, such as standing, sitting on a rug, on a core chair, regular desk chair, or on a comfy seat at my small group table. My students aren't receiving the best nutrition at home, so many of them have a difficult time staying seated as is. Moving while working also increases oxygen to the brain, which will keep them alert and focused, as well as provide health benefits. I want my classroom to be a place students want to stay and learn.
