The purpose of family involvement is to engage families as partners in the education process. We want our parents to have an active and vested interest in our school and our students. That is why I would like invite our parents into the school and engage them in a fun and exciting night of literacy and learning. My project is to host a family fun literacy night at my school. I would like to set up literacy stations and games for parents to play with their children. As the families are playing and having fun, they are also learning important ways to help their students with reading skills at home. The teachers will also help parents with any questions or concerns they may have about ways to assist their students at home. During the family fun night, we will also have a parent volunteer sign-up drive. It is our hope, that inviting the parents to our fun night will improve the home to school connection.
