I teach 24 wonderful, first grade students! We begin our day with a greeting and morning routine. During our language arts block, we gather on the carpet and listen to a read aloud. Then we study our feature words for the week, by completing an engaging activity! My students really like it when we have a race with the words to see which word wins! Then reading rotations begin, which coincide with guided reading. That's when the wobble chairs would benefit my students the most! Their wiggly body's need to slow down and focus on reading. Guided reading is that special time, when the children get to work on their reading skills. Being focused and on task increases the probability of grow in their reading level.
