Interactive notebooking allows students to engage in hands-on learning. Fifth grade students are getting ready to become middle schoolers, but they are still kids that love to interact with each other and learn kinesthetically. Students will use their notebooks, tape, folders, markers, and pencils in a daily routine during science and ELA. These students are not ready to merely take notes in a lecture type of environment. So interactive notebooking is a fun and engaging way for students to learn new material, as well as the skill of note taking; which is a skill they will NEED throughout their schooling career.
