A rug in the classroom is an essential place for learning when teaching our little kindergarten students. Our students love sitting on rugs in the morning to greet each other and talk about their ideas. Rugs are a place they come to relax and listen to stories. Right now with the issues our schools face, large rugs are better for social distance and still allow for a more relaxed and comfortable area for story time and small group activities. Rugs promote social/emotional development, teacher/student interactions, and is an overall fun area for play.
