So many students are kinesthetic learners who need movement to be able to clearly think and get work completed. Students often want to walk around the classroom or stand beside their desk. This creates distraction for other students - when they see kids walking around or standing, they don't understand why, and they will want to also stand or walk around. This can make a very chaotic classroom where learning gets lost in the chaos. The balance ball chairs will allow my students who need to move - the freedom to do so - without causing disruption for other students. I have seen the success of balance ball chairs in other classrooms and it is amazing how students can move and stay focused on their classwork while using them!
