I'm super fortunate to teach orchestra and piano to middle school students in Orlando, Florida. While my students are awesome kids, they don't have a ton of money for instrument rentals and private lessons. Odyssey was opened in 2007 with a band and chorus program. The orchestra program wasn't added until 2015 and piano is brand new this year. I see around 160 kids every single day in my room and, as you can imagine, it gets very chaotic! As a musician, I love the chaos and the noise! To me it means that music is being made and students are learning and experiencing! I have several students that have made all-county orchestra and my hope is to have all state students in the next 4-5 years.
