I am an elementary school counselor at a rural Title I school in North Carolina. We have a student population of approximately 260 students in Head Start-5th grade. Although I am biased, I believe that we have the most beautiful school in the area because it is nestled in the foothills of North Carolina. Our students have a gorgeous view of the mountains from their classrooms and playground! We live in a close-knit community that is supportive of their neighbors, and especially of our school. Having a small school population allows teachers and other school personnel to closely know and work with students and their families. Many of the school staff members also live in the community, and several attended our school as an elementary student. I consider myself lucky to be a former student, and I count my blessings everyday that I am able to work at Casar Elementary School!
