Everyday our students come in and write a journal to stimulate thinking and also share their feelings. We go through so many pencils, not just because we are writing, but they get lost, they break, and sometimes we have pencils that need to be sharpened. To encourage student participation, I like to reward my students by printing out their final drafts and give them a ticket for the end of the week raffle. My students look forward to the raffle because they get an opportunity to earn prizes they take interest in like anime. The resources used for this project will not only help my students this year, but they will be part of the classroom model to facilitate student achievement.
