Moving beyond just table and chairs, fun and flexible seating will empower students to choose the best ways they can focus and learn in the classroom. Diversifying classroom seating with wiggle chairs, lap desks, and sensory cushions, students will be able to control their bodies, and better engage in the learning process. For many students, the ability to move their body, work in a sensory-rich environment, or simply change locations allows young students to maintain focus throughout the long school day. Many young children in school for the first time need more opportunities to move. I’m excited to revitalize my classroom into a diverse, fun, and exciting setting to development lifelong learners.
