The Instrumental Performing Arts program at Howell High School is a testimony to what can be accomplished by a single dedicated educator, with support from an enlightened administration, and an enthusiastic community. The program, with over 280 members, averages 35 performances a year across a range of ensembles, including Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Jazz Band, Rock Band, Yakety Sax Brass Quintet, Woodwind Quartet, Marching Band, Scots-Irish Band, year-round Drumline, a mix of folk, jazz, and African ensembles depending on the year, and Bagpipes study.
