My middle school math students use calculators every day. We need help with the funding for them because the parents of our students struggle with purchasing an expensive calculator. We do have access to some in class, but there are many different kinds and the students often find it difficult to share with others and often get lost when following my lead because some of the buttons are different on the older models. It would be absolutely amazing if one day, I had one whole class set that the students can borrow for the school year and they can also take them home for homework. These students will also take their state test with them as well as their Algebra exam at the end of the year. Having these calculators also eliminates the use of a lot of graph and notebook paper. Students are able to use the calculator more efficiently and accurately, which in turn, saves them time on their end of the year assessments.
