Students know coming into AP Calculus that the course will be rigorous, challenging, and tough. I do not want them to be discouraged when they hear that they will need their own calculator for the exam. Bringing these calculators to the classroom will ensure that at least four of my students will get to borrow calculators and not have to worry about buying a calculator. I want the buying a calculator part, one that meets the requirements of the exam, to be the least of their worries. Especially knowing that they already have enough on their plates with learning when to use the product rule and when to use the chain rule.
