My classroom is full of economically disadvantaged students who have suffered a devastating loss of school and home. Our community has been rocked to its core in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Although we are displaced, we are finally in school for the whole day. My students have proven to be supportive and resilient in these times, and that makes my heart swell! We have gone to flexible seating to better accommodate everyone's learning styles, and that has been a huge success. I have a high energy, loud classroom. We celebrate the little things and encourage growth over all else. My classroom is composed of ESL, dyslexic, autistic, ADHD, special ed, drama queens, and rowdy boys. I love my job, and I love coming to school everyday to see what they will say or do next! Who wouldn't want to be me?!
