I am a high school teacher at Hume Lake Charter, a very small, relatively new, charter school in California's Sequoia Mountain Range. Our school serves the students of this area which is about 1.5 hours away from the nearest urban area. Because of its rural location, the entire school (K-12) has a little over 70 students. Because we have such a small student body, our budget is limited though we want to offer our students as many learning opportunities as they would get were they able to attend a larger school. As a high school teacher (I currently teach English and Social Studies to grades 9-12), I have 17 students who share my classroom and all the resources, depending on their grade and subject. We have very limited supplies--especially in the area of technology--, a deficit which, with your help, I look forward to remedying.
