Students need new books on their reading level to enhance their reading experiences and our library just doesn't have them right now. They have books in their classrooms, which are by certain authors or part of a series and they come to the library looking for the next book in the series and we just don't have those books in our library right now. Students often leave the library empty-handed because they can't find the books they want. The library's goal is to have books that are on students' targeted reading levels and that are of high interest to them. Having these new, interesting books in the library will encourage students to check them out and continue reading in and outside of school. This will help us reach the goal of students becoming lifelong readers and learners.
