Many of my students come from low income families and attend a title 1 school. My students and their families understand the importance of college, but they fear the rising costs of higher education. At our school, students have access to technology but their families do not have the financial resources to provide the essentials that a new college student would need to improve their chances of academic success. By providing these essential materials to our students we will relieve their families from this financial burden and support their first-generation student achieve their goal. The class of 2018 has worked extremely hard, overcoming obstacles, financial hardships and have earned their spot at some of the top universities in the country. Our hope is that our seniors not only go to college but also succeed. We want to give them the right tools to do so so they can focus on their path to success instead of worrying about paying for a laptop or having to run to the library before class to print out a last minute paper.

About my class
