Have you ever walked into a coffee shop and noticed that there are several different seating options to choose from? Depending on what you're working on or who you are working with, you may choose to sit on a couch, high top table, bench, stool, or chair. I want to provide my future students with this same choice and flexibility! Depending on the activity and student learning styles, students may select an seating option which is a good fit for them. Because of your donation, students will be given the option to sit in a bean bag while reading their favorite book, sit on an exercise ball while working, wiggle on a wobble cushion, or collaborate with their classmates on a new chair or stool. Flexible seating helps to foster a community of learners. Because students share different seating options and materials, they learn to work collaboratively with their peers. Finally, flexible seating increases focus and productivity by providing students with choices, allowing them to move appropriately, and helping them to feel comfortable in their environment. Your gift of flexible seating options will help to create a comfortable and inviting environment where students can enjoy working together on classroom activities and projects.
