I decided to organize the Science Club as a direct result of the realization that some of our students want/need more intellectual stimulation outside of the classroom. The environment I have created in the Science Club allows students to be scientists, engineers and inventors, I simply sit back and facilitate their own creations. These students have spent hours designing and refining impressive scientific projects. They now need the resources to make them reality. There is no current funding to support Science Fair projects at our school so we are in need of outside support to transform the learning experience for these 8 gifted, and disadvantaged youth. The materials requested will enable the following projects: a shaking robot with a circuitry, switch, battery connectors, and motor; high speed solar car kits for 3 competing projects; petri dishes for a bacteria culture study; magnets for a levitating car; and a simple machine inventor K'Nex Kit - for a student that has a million ideas and does not know where to begin.
