The implementation of Scholastic Action magazines, in our classroom, will improve students' interest in reading. Each magazine contains stories from multiple genres and gives the students a chance to interact with different texts. Most importantly, the stories aligned to Common Core State Standards, provide additional support for learning in the classroom. The stories are engaging and differentiated to meet the needs of all learners. Due to larger classroom sizes, it is harder to locate materials that each student can access. Having a subscription to this magazine will give each student a chance to practice their reading strategies at their own pace. This will provide students with a chance to read, annotate, and respond to the questions attached to each story. We will also have access to a variety of graphic organizers and quizzes to measure each student's reading comprehension.
