Student's classroom learning will be inspired by the science fiction novel, "The Martian." The classroom edition provides lessons, units, activities, and interactive labs that provide opportunities for students to explore what needs to be considered before colonizing Mars. Whole STEM units can be built upon the knowledge acquired from delving into the science behind the novel coupled with the endless possibilities of exploration and problem solving in space. Students will be engaged everyday, eager to incorporate science literacy into their learning environment, and ready to enhance their learning through hands on activities and experiments inspired by the creativity of "The Martian" and the students' perspective. This is a great opportunity to apply real science, technology, engineering and mathematics available to us in the science classroom and beyond.
