The sensory seating selected for our classroom is designed to keep student bodies moving while learning. The wobble chairs are stable enough for comfort, but they allow students to move and engage their core while reading, listening, or writing. The ball chairs and disco seats allow a release of energy that students seek while sitting in the classroom. The lap desks allow for students to work comfortably in a small group on the floor. I am so excited to give my students chairs that are developmentally appropriate for their age! My favorite classroom tool selected is the trampoline. This will be used as both a sensory break, and a tool to motivate learners! A hard worker could earn 10 jumps! I am so hopeful that embracing student energy will lead to a happier and more effective learning environment.
