Thank you for providing us with the Sphero robots and rollercoaster engineering kits. These kits will be used to help teach our students science, technology, engineering, and math. We're thankful that you have decided to join us in our efforts to expose children to interactive S.T.E.M. activities that will help them gain the confidence and skills they need to be academically and socially successful in life. Each year, we have about 40 energetic student volunteers that facilitate S.T.E.M. workshops for children in diverse communities and neighborhoods. We believe that students learn best from their peers, and in order to teach a concept, you must first own the knowledge. My students love science and they are eager to share their love and knowledge of science with their peers. We allow the kids to touch, experiment, and gain knowledge of different concepts in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math. Not only do the kids learn and have a lot of fun, but their teachers experience the same excitement. What we are doing has such a tremendous impact on our community and student volunteers. It's with excitement that they return each year looking forward to participating in our hands-on workshops. Our students have testified that what we are doing has helped develop leadership skills in them. They feel more confident presenting to various audiences, they have a sense of belonging, and they have a higher sense of self-worth. We are extremely proud of what we have accomplished with our community and student volunteers.
