These Spanish Alphabet tubs will help me introduce the letter of the week. There are over 150 appealing miniatures to be grouped in 30 tubs—one for each letter sound in the Spanish alphabet, including “ch,” “ll,” “ñ” and “rr.” Students will focus on letter sounds, letter names, onset sounds of words, syllabication and building or reinforcing Spanish vocabulary. Having these visuals on hand will inspire curiosity and maintain engagement during my phonics lessons. Once students have mastered the basic vocabulary we will generate a circle map with words that begin with the letter of the week. The circle map will in turn be used to aid in writing a complete sentence with one word that begins with the letter of the week.
