I have been in Southwest Detroit for over 10 years and the majority of my students are English Language Learners. The biggest struggle we see is reading and, as teachers, we are focused on improving our students' reading in all subject areas. Our school has the feel of a small community and it is evident as soon as you walk through the doors of the building. The staff is dedicated to providing the best education to our students and are always working hard to make sure that happens. Many of our students have been attending Hope since kindergarten and it is like a second home for all of us. Staff, students, and parents work together to provide a warm and welcoming place for all.
