With a more diverse, leveled classroom library, students will have the opportunity to improve their fluency, decoding, and comprehension skills. Students will be exposed to a variety of fiction and nonfiction texts, focused on exciting topics. Through free choice, students will select appropriate books for themselves and practice reading them to mastery. My students will practice building their reading stamina by reading to self daily. Students will be given many opportunities to read to classmates; this will improve each student's fluency and comfort level reading aloud, as well as provide students with the opportunity to collaborate and help each other!
