My students come to me without ever being away from their parents or in a classroom. Students that have Autism Spectrum usually have difficulty with regulating their emotions. They need help with regulation when their little bodies become overstimulated. The tools that I have selected help give them the deep pressure that calms them down. The Pea Pods are great for security because they can sit in them during circle time or large group activities and participate with everyone else. The deep pressure vests can be placed over their clothes while they continue to participate in therapies or activities. Also, when my little ones are working in the classroom, most of them need something to hold or fiddle with in order for them to focus on the task. This project will help my students have the tools they need to progress in the classroom. These things will give them a fighting chance to be successful in their environment.
