The teachers of Weekend Club soccer love playing the sport and want to share their love for it with students of NC Prep. With their prior experience from playing (all the way up to semi-pro!) to coaching, the teachers have learned important things about teamwork, building friendships, and self-confidence. Through Weekend Club soccer, the teachers hope to teach children all aspects of team sports including - but not limited to - warm-ups/stretching to being a good team player and being supportive of others even if they don't win. Since we just moved to the new campus this school year (2016-2017), we have an enclosed soccer field, but no nets, balls, or cones to play the game. We are also asking for pinnies to distinguish students' teams on the field, and equipment for conditioning, such as agility poles and ladders, so healthy conditioning practices can be established. With the equipment this project will buy, we hope students will be able to experience all the parts of being a soccer player, from conditioning to playing scrimmages to healthy practices.
