The Crawl and Climb Caterpillar will help encourage my students to engage in a variety of beneficial movements and physical activity during recess.Providing my pre-k students with age-appropriate, inviting playground equipment that encourages crawling and climbing will benefit their development in multiple ways. Climbing and crawling help develop gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness. Climbing is beneficial to problem solving and social skills, and studies have shown that kids who climb perform better academically. Crawling in preschoolers has been linked to better attention and focus, and works the muscles necessary for writing. My students' physical and academic development will greatly benefit from the Crawl and Climb Caterpillar, and they will have so much fun playing on it. I know that my schools' pre-k students will be excited and grateful to have playground equipment just for them!
